The Spyder Women's Tarantula Ski Pants are insulated ski pants with high back suspenders and a back flap. These top-of-the-line pants have full side zippers so you can take them on and off with boots on and open them for ventilation. These pants have two zippered pockets one with a key holder clasp inside the pocket. There are inner snow cuffs with an elastic band. The knee construction is articulated and these ski pants have adjustable waist snap tabs and Schoeller-Dynatec scuff guards on the inside of the ankles. Schoeller-Dynatec is a rugged protective nylon fabric that is 2.5 times stronger than Cordura. It is tear resistant, skid-proof and impervious to temperature. The material is Nylon Faille Weave with the XT 5,000mm coating and Spylon Water Replellant Finish. All critical seams are taped. The XT 5,000mm coating is only available from Spyder and makes the fabric breathable and waterproof. It forms a honeycomb structure with billions of micro pores that are too small for water droplets to pentrate from the outside but large enough to allow interior moisture vapor through from the inside. The insulation is Thinsulate which efficiently traps insulating air and reflects body warmth delivering two-times greater warmth than down and other polyester insulations wehn equal thicknesses are compared.
