The tape can be removed at anytime without damaging the skis. <B>To decide which of the Tiplocks you need (STD vs XL), measure the ski at the widest part of the tip (where it contacts the snow). A good rule of thumb is the XL for shaped skis and the STD for older or plastic skis.</B>
